Jewellery shopping in Lahore: the bazaar, the mall, or online
Lahore has more places to buy jewellery than almost anywhere in the country. That is the problem as much as the advantage.

In Lahore, buy real gold in person from a jeweller you or your family trust, where you can watch it weighed and see the day's rate on the bill. For fashion and everyday jewellery, ordering online from a seller with a written exchange policy and cash on delivery usually saves the trip, the haggling and the parking, and most Lahore addresses receive orders in one to two working days.
What follows is how each route works in this city, what to check either way, and what slows a Lahore delivery down.
Market or online: which suits what you are buying
Lahore has an enormous range of places to buy jewellery, from the old gold bazaars of the Walled City to the stalls around Anarkali and Liberty Market and the counters in the malls. That range is the good news. The less good news is that using it well takes an afternoon, a car, and some tolerance for a June afternoon in a crowded market.
| What you want | In person | Online | Why |
|---|---|---|---|
| Real gold (21k or 22k) | Yes | No | You need to see the hallmark, the weighing and the day's rate on the bill |
| Real silver | Usually | Sometimes | A 925 stamp and the weight are easier to check in the hand |
| Bridal and heavy sets | Yes | Rarely | Fit on the face and neck matters, and families like to see a set together |
| Everyday rings, chains, bracelets | Either | Yes | Sizing is simple and a good online listing states materials in writing |
| Men's steel and PVD pieces | Hard to find | Yes | Few stalls can tell you what grade of steel they are selling |
| Gifts sent to someone else | No | Yes | Delivered straight to them, with the price left off the invoice |
The line most Lahoris already draw is the right one. Gold is a bazaar purchase, bound up with trust, family jewellers and the weight on the scale. Fashion jewellery is not, and treating it like one is where people overpay for plated brass.
Shopping the markets: what to check
Whether you are browsing Anarkali, Liberty or a mall counter, the checks for fashion jewellery are the same, and none of them take long.
- Ask what the base metal is. Artificial is not a material. Brass, mixed alloy, 925 silver and stainless steel all wear very differently, and a seller who does not know is telling you something.
- Ask whether the gold colour is plating or PVD, and expect most market pieces to be plated. Plating is fine for a function. It is not what you want for daily wear through a Lahore summer.
- Check the clasp and the small jump rings, not just the front. Pull gently. Most breakages start at a ring that was never closed properly.
- Turn stone-set pieces over. Glued stones show a line of adhesive at the back, and glue softens in heat.
- Ask about exchanges before you pay, not after. Many stalls do not exchange at all, which is fair, but it means you should be certain of the size.
- Try rings on in the afternoon rather than the morning. Fingers swell in heat, and a ring that fits at 10am can be tight by 4pm.
Buying online in Lahore: what to check
Online removes the drive but not the need to check. A few things separate a seller you can rely on from one you cannot, and every one of them is visible before you place an order. The fuller version is our checklist before buying jewellery online.
- A named exchange or return window, in writing, with its conditions. A line saying contact us is not a policy.
- Materials stated on each product: the base metal, the finish, and for stone-set rings, what the stones actually are.
- A phone or WhatsApp number that answers, and an email address. Send a question before you order and see how the reply reads.
- Cash on delivery, so nothing is paid until the parcel is in your hands.
- Measurements in millimetres and centimetres rather than small, medium and large.
How long delivery takes across Lahore
Zayr is based in Lahore, so this is our fastest city: one to two working days for most addresses. Orders confirmed before roughly 2pm are usually dispatched the same day, which puts DHA, Gulberg, Model Town, Johar Town and Bahria Town commonly at next-day delivery. Shipping is a flat Rs. 250, free over Rs. 5,000, and cash on delivery carries no surcharge. Area-by-area details are on the Lahore delivery page.
What slows a Lahore order down is rarely distance. It is nearly always the address or the phone.
- In DHA, Bahria Town and Askari, give the phase and the block or sector. These areas are large, and a missing phase costs a rider real time.
- In the Walled City and around Anarkali, add a landmark: a mosque, a school, a named chowk. Map pins in narrow streets are unreliable.
- For an office address in Gulberg or on the Boulevard, add the floor and the company name.
- Use a number that will be answered during the day. The rider calls before arriving, and a missed call usually means a reattempt the next day.
Buying for Lahore's weather
May to August is hard on plated jewellery here. Heat and sweat wear gold plating through at the points of contact, and the monsoon that follows brings a humid spell that dulls silver. For anything worn every day, stainless steel or PVD is the practical choice, and plated pieces are best kept for weddings and evenings.
For the record on our own range: Zayr's men's pieces are 316L stainless steel with PVD gold and black tones, and the women's rings are rhodium- or gold-plated over a hypoallergenic base, set with cubic zirconia. We do not sell real gold, silver or diamonds, which is exactly why real gold stays a bazaar purchase in this guide.
Shaadi season in Lahore
November to February is when the markets are at their most crowded and the couriers at their busiest. If you are shopping in person for a function, go on a weekday morning rather than a Saturday evening. If you are ordering online, order ten days before the first event so there is room to exchange a size. The panic purchase the night before a baraat is where most regretted jewellery comes from.
Buy gold where you can watch it being weighed. Buy everything else where the policy is written down.
Common questions
Where can I buy jewellery in Lahore?
Lahore's traditional gold bazaars are in the Walled City, and fashion jewellery is widely sold around Anarkali, Liberty Market and the city's malls. For everyday rings, chains and bracelets, ordering online with cash on delivery is often simpler, and most Lahore addresses receive orders in one to two working days.
Should I buy gold jewellery online or from a jeweller in Lahore?
Buy real gold from a jeweller you trust, in person. Gold is priced by weight at the day's rate plus making charges, and you want to see the hallmark and the weighing yourself. Online is better suited to fashion jewellery, where the materials and the exchange policy can be stated in writing.
How long does jewellery delivery take in Lahore?
Zayr delivers to most of Lahore in one to two working days. Orders confirmed before roughly 2pm are usually dispatched the same day, so areas like DHA, Gulberg, Model Town and Johar Town commonly get next-day delivery. Cash on delivery is available across the city.
Does Zayr have a shop in Lahore?
No. Zayr is based in Lahore but is online only, with no walk-in counter. Everything is ordered on the website and delivered to your address, with payment in cash when the parcel arrives.
What jewellery lasts best in a Lahore summer?
Stainless steel and PVD-coated steel. Neither tarnishes or loses colour from sweat, which is what wears gold plating through between May and August. Keep plated pieces for evenings and functions, and dry them before putting them away.
