Exchanges and returns: how they actually work here
Most exchanges are sizing, most sizing is fixable, and almost every dispute comes down to whether you kept the box.

Roughly one order in twelve comes back to us for an exchange, and about eight in ten of those are a ring that is half a size out. That is not a quality problem, it is a measuring problem, and it is the reason the whole process exists.
Return policies in Pakistan have a bad reputation, mostly earned. Here is how ours works, why the limits are where they are, and how to make any exchange — with us or anyone else — go smoothly.
The policy in one paragraph
Seven days from delivery. The piece must be unworn and in its original packaging. Message +92 334 4008322 or email queries@zayrclothing.com with your order number and what needs changing, and we arrange the swap. A wrong or damaged item is our mistake and we cover the return leg; a change of size or mind is a shared cost.
What can and cannot come back
| Situation | Exchangeable? | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Ring is the wrong size, unworn | Yes | The most common request we handle. Straightforward inside 7 days |
| Chain is longer or shorter than you wanted | Yes | Same rules — unworn, packaged |
| You changed your mind | Yes, within 7 days | Provided nothing has been worn and the box is intact |
| Wrong item was sent | Yes, and we pay both ways | Our error, our cost. Photograph it and message the same day |
| Arrived damaged | Yes, and we pay both ways | Same-day photo makes this immediate |
| Earrings, once the seal is opened | No | Hygiene. This is standard everywhere and not negotiable |
| Engraved or custom pieces | No | It cannot be sold to anyone else |
| Worn for a week, then returned | No | Marks on a band show, and the next buyer deserves a new piece |
| Outside 7 days | Case by case | Message anyway — we would rather talk than turn you away on a technicality |
How to make an exchange take three days rather than three weeks
- Keep the box until you are certain. This is the single biggest factor. Original packaging turns a negotiation into a procedure.
- Message the same day you decide. Exchange windows are short and goodwill is highest in the first 48 hours.
- Send the order number in the first message. Not “I ordered a ring last week” — the number, which is on the confirmation email.
- Include a photo, even for a sizing swap. It confirms the condition at your end and pre-empts the one question we would otherwise have to ask.
- Say what you want in exchange, specifically. “Same ring, US 7 instead of US 6” closes the loop in one message rather than four.
If the parcel is wrong or damaged
Photograph it before you do anything else — the outer packaging, the label, and the item as it sits. Then message us the same day. Damage in transit and a picking mistake at our end look identical to you, and the photo tells us which one it was, which decides whether we chase the courier or simply apologise and reship.
You are not paying return postage for something we got wrong. If any seller in this market asks you to, that is the moment to stop dealing with them.
Why the window is only seven days
Honest answer: because a jewellery piece off a shelf for a month is no longer new stock, and because a long window mostly gets used by people who wore something to an event and want their money back. Thirty-day windows sound generous and get funded by everyone else's prices.
Seven days is enough to unwrap it, try it on, sleep on it and decide. That is genuinely all the decision needs. And if you are outside it for a real reason — you were travelling, it was a gift held back until a birthday — message us anyway. The policy is a default, not a wall. Measuring properly before you order is what avoids the whole exercise.
A seller's return policy tells you what they expect to happen. Short and clearly written means they expect you to be happy. Long and vague usually means the opposite.
Common questions
What is the return policy for jewellery bought online?
Ours is seven days from delivery on unworn pieces in their original packaging. Contact us with your order number and we arrange the exchange. Opened earrings and engraved pieces are the two exceptions, for hygiene and because they cannot be resold.
Can I exchange a ring that does not fit?
Yes, and it is the most common request we handle. Provided the ring is unworn and inside the seven-day window, a size swap is straightforward. Measuring properly before ordering saves you the wait — our ring sizing guide has the chart.
What should I do if my order arrives damaged?
Photograph the outer packaging, the courier label and the item, then message us the same day with your order number. Damaged or wrong items are our responsibility, we replace them, and you do not pay return postage for our mistake.
Why can I not return earrings?
Hygiene. Once the seal is opened there is no way to confirm they were not tried on, and no seller can responsibly send them to the next customer. This is standard practice across the industry rather than a policy specific to us.
