Buying jewellery in sale season: 11.11, White Friday and Eid sales
A sale price is only a saving if the price before the sale was real, the size is still in stock and the parcel arrives in time.

Sale seasons in Pakistan, such as 11.11, White Friday, 12.12 and the run-up to Eid, can offer genuine savings on jewellery, but some discounts are calculated from inflated “original” prices, popular sizes sell out first, and couriers slow down because every seller ships at once. The way to buy well is to note normal prices a few weeks before, check the exchange terms for sale items, and order early enough to absorb a delay.
This is not an argument against sales. It is a way of making sure the number on the banner is a real saving and not just a different way of showing the usual price.
The sale calendar, roughly

Wedding season overlaps with the November and December sales, which is why couriers are busiest in exactly the weeks when many people need jewellery by a fixed date.
Real discount or fake discount?
A discount is only as honest as the price it is calculated from. The common tricks are easy to recognise once you know them.
- The inflated “was” price. The crossed-out number was never actually charged, or was raised a week before the sale so the percentage looks bigger.
- “Up to 70% off”. The headline applies to a handful of items. Most of the range is 10–20% off, or not discounted at all.
- The permanent sale. A countdown timer that resets every day, or a “limited time” price that has been live for months.
- Percentage without rupees. “40% off” on a Rs. 800 piece is Rs. 320. Always convert to the actual amount saved.
- Bundle maths. “Buy 2 get 1 free” is a saving only if you wanted three.
- Shipping clawback. A lower item price with shipping or a COD fee added back at checkout.
Is the sale price fair for what the piece is?
Even a real discount can land on a piece that was overpriced to begin with, or on one that was never good value. Judge the sale price against what the material and construction are actually worth. Stock and sizes
Popular sizes go first, and sale stock often has the sizes nobody wanted at full price. That matters much more for rings and fixed-length bracelets than for chains.
- Know your size before the sale starts. Measuring on sale day, in a hurry, is how people end up exchanging.
- Check that your size is actually in stock before adding it to the cart, not just the style.
- Be wary of buying the nearest available size because it is cheap. A ring half a size out is not a bargain.
- Read whether sale or clearance items can be exchanged. Some sellers make them final sale.
- If a piece sells out, do not buy a different one just to use the discount.
Courier delays in sale season
When many sellers run sales at the same time, couriers receive far more parcels than usual in the same few days. Nothing is lost; it just queues. - Need it for a date? Order before the sale peak, not during it, even if that means paying full price.
- Answer the confirmation call quickly. In busy weeks, unconfirmed orders are the ones that wait.
- Keep your phone on and reachable for riders, who are running longer routes than usual.
- Do not place duplicate orders because tracking has not updated. Scans lag more in busy periods.
Cash on delivery and impulse orders
COD makes it easy to order during a sale and decide later. That is exactly how refused parcels pile up in sale season, which costs sellers and slows couriers for everyone. A short sale-season checklist
- Screenshot prices of your shortlist two to three weeks before.
- Measure and note your ring, wrist and chain sizes in advance.
- Convert every percentage into rupees saved.
- Check the total at checkout, including shipping and any COD fee.
- Read the exchange terms for sale items.
- Order early if it is needed by a date, and allow extra days for delivery.
The best sale purchase is the piece you had already decided on, at a price you had already checked, arriving before you need it.
