Eid gifting: what to buy, and when to order it
The gift is the easy part. Ordering it before every courier in the country jams is the part people get wrong.

Eid gifting has a rhythm that everything else lacks. It is not one gift for one person — it is five or six, across a range of relationships and budgets, all needed on the same morning. And it collides with the single busiest fortnight in Pakistani e-commerce.
So this is two articles in one: what to give, and how to actually have it in your hands on Chaand Raat.
Order two weeks before the moon sighting
This is the entire logistical advice and it is not padding. The last ten days of Ramadan are when every courier in the country runs at capacity. Routes that normally take three days take six. Riders make fewer attempts per parcel because they are carrying triple the volume.
| When you order | What happens |
|---|---|
| First half of Ramadan | Normal delivery windows. Room to exchange a size |
| Around the 20th | Still fine to most cities. Tight for Quetta and remote areas |
| Last ten days | Expect double the usual transit. No margin for a size swap |
| Last three days | Genuinely a gamble anywhere outside your own city |
| Chaand Raat | Order for after Eid and give a card. This is not defeat, it is arithmetic |
What to give, by relationship
| For | Safe choice | Rough budget | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Wife | A ring, or a chain with a pendant | Rs. 4,000+ | The one gift where a size exchange is worth planning for |
| Mother | A simple bracelet or a fine chain | Rs. 2,500+ | Match what she already wears. She will not change her style |
| Sister | Stacking rings, or small hoops | Rs. 1,500–3,000 | Something she can add to. Ask about the metal tone |
| Daughter | A first chain, 35–40 cm | Rs. 1,500+ | Steel rather than plated — it will survive her |
| Brother | A steel chain or bracelet | Rs. 2,000+ | The single easiest gift on this list |
| Father | A plain band or a signet ring | Rs. 1,500+ | Understated. He will not wear anything else |
| Friend | A bracelet | Rs. 1,200+ | Low risk, no sizing drama, no implied meaning |
| In-laws | A bracelet or a plain chain | Rs. 2,000+ | Neutral is the point. Avoid anything with a symbol |
The Eidi problem
For younger cousins and nieces, jewellery competes with cash, and cash usually wins on the day. But a small piece — a thin chain, a pair of studs, a simple ring — is the thing still around in five years, and children remember who gave them their first proper piece of anything.
If you go this route, buy steel rather than plated. A child's first chain gets worn in a swimming pool within a month, and plated brass does not come back from that.
Getting the sizing right without asking
- Chains are the safe category. 40–45 cm for women, 50–55 cm for men, and neither has a wrong answer.
- Bracelets are nearly as safe. Measure one they own, flat, or estimate 17–19 cm for women and 20–22 cm for men.
- Rings are the risky one. Borrow one from the right finger and measure the inner diameter, or press it into a bar of soap. US 6–7 is the most common women's range if you have nothing.
- Earrings need no sizing at all, but they cannot be exchanged once opened. Only buy them if you are confident about the style.
Giving it well
- Ask for the invoice without prices. We do this on request and so does any decent seller. A gift with a price on it is a receipt.
- Give it before Eid morning if it is something to wear. Half the pleasure of a piece of jewellery at Eid is wearing it on the day.
- Do not present a ring in a ring box unless you mean what a ring box means. This has caused more than one uncomfortable Eid.
- Keep the packaging until they have tried it on. It makes an exchange painless if the size is out.
- If it needs exchanging afterwards, message +92 334 4008322 with the order number — post-Eid exchanges are quieter and faster than pre-Eid ones.
Nobody remembers what a gift cost. They remember that it fit, that it suited them, and that it turned up on time.
Common questions
When should I order Eid gifts online in Pakistan?
Two weeks before the expected moon sighting. The last ten days of Ramadan are the busiest period of the year for Pakistani couriers, and normal three-day routes stretch to six. Ordering early also leaves room to exchange a size, which is impossible in the final fortnight.
What is a good Eid gift for a sister or wife?
For a wife, a ring or a chain with a pendant, budgeting from around Rs. 4,000. For a sister, stacking rings or small hoops from around Rs. 1,500 — something she can add to later. In both cases, match the metal tone to what she already wears rather than trying to broaden her taste.
What jewellery should I gift if I do not know their size?
A chain or a bracelet. Chains have effectively no wrong answer at 40–45 cm for women and 50–55 cm for men, and bracelets are forgiving within a couple of centimetres. Rings are the only category where being one size out makes the piece unwearable.
Can I get the invoice sent without the price on it?
Yes — just say so in the order notes and we leave prices off the printed invoice. Any established seller will do the same. It is worth asking for on any gift, since a price on the paperwork changes how the gift is received.
